A project made of earth… To build the lodge Wally Aziz drew inspiration from the work of the famous Hassan Fathy. As early as the 1930s the architect promoted auto-construction and the economical and aesthetic qualities of mudbricks, as well as its thermal qualities. In 1946, the construction of the village of Nugorna begins. At the time, its detractors are numerous: the project is accused as being archaic. Today the village is still standing and Hassan Fathy has become an example to follow.
