Germany

In Fribourg, the roof of the football stadium and train station are overlapped with photovoltaic panels. This german town is devoted to ecology since over 25 years. It has more solar panels than all places in France together, and they also collect rainwater. Norms for all new buildings are very tight concerning power supply.

Architects, researchers, entrepreneurs, citizens, fraternities participated together to develop ecological principles and encourage specific social concepts.

The district Vauban, in 2,5 km in the South of the city center is the example of an ecodistrict of an architectural variety. Small buildings in the form of cubes often with wooden facades of various colors and the outside staircases. Buildings have to answer the requirements of the Label Environment with Low Energy (10 times fewer consummate energies than us).

A district which facilitates the social links, the meetings and the mutual aid of its inhabitants and applies the social coeducation.
