DRAGSPELHUSET
GLASKOGEN
NATURE RESERVE – SWEDEN
|
The owners, the Dutch people discovered
the classified ad of the hut on the edges of the lake Ovre Gla, accidentally,
during holidays in Sweden.
They were seduced at once by the site and
decided to make their house of holidays.
They are architects, the house was
inspired by their theme "Art Deco", meaning that ecological
architecture maybe contemporary and magnificent.

The Dragspelhuset is made of wood, most of
the wood result from surrounding forests, the outside parts were the only
imported from Canada.
They built it entirely by themselves with
the help of many handymen friends.
When they spend their holidays in Sweden, they live
essentially outside, they sail, they do water-skiing and bathe in the lake.
Beyond, their bathroom is in the outside of the house, near the brook with a
big wooden bathtub warmed by a poele with wood.
There is no electricity, just solar panels
which allow to obtain 12 volts to warm the bedroom, for the rest, they use
candles.
There is
either no tap water, they provide themselves in drinking water at the
neighbours and use natural WC.
