Peter Vetsch’s Organic Houses

They look like caves which become integrated into the natural decor, they are "troglodyte" houses. Their architecture is really very specific. Peter Vetsch built the first ones at the end of the 70s, but they are always very appreciated in Switzerland.

In these houses, the ground plays the role of an electric blanket which protects effectively from the cold, from the rain and from the wind.

It offers a natural protection against the negative influences of the environment and the unwanted emissions.

Respect the natural site, be thrifty in energy and in raw materials: they are three rules of bases of the house Green.

One of the major ecological advantages of the organic house is its pleasant climate. The particular method of construction of the organic houses leads to well-balanced climatic conditions: the freshness in summer and the protection against the cold in winter.

Another advantage is the pleasant humidity of the air about 50 %, completely contrary to rooms overheated in winter in the conventional houses. Furthermore, the density of the air of the organic houses represents an ideal condition for a comfortable and controlled aeration.

The organic houses become integrated perfectly into the landscape. Their roofs covered by the ground base themselves in the surroundings in a natural way and protect effectively the landscape.

The green roofs restore a part of the landscape and so contribute to the contribution of oxygen and nitrogen in the ecosystem. Contrary to the conventional constructions, be integrated into the rough terrain and submit itself to the natural landscape.

As the roof is covered with ground, the plantation of useful plants is possible. This vegetable cover gets back the biggest part of rainy waters.

This restraint of water relieves the stream of too big quantities of water.
